Myth of Multitasking

August 18, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

We’ve all heard it, and we all think we’re good at it, but multitasking is a LIE!
Attend this presentation and learn about how the brain works and how multitasking is really not effective. We will participate in an exercise that proves multitasking is a lie and view several video snippets to help you explain to your students the myth of multitasking. Hopefully, this will steer them in the right direction!

Instructional objectives:

  • Describe the difference between multitasking and switchtasking
  • Participate in the “multitasking is a lie” exercise
  • Discuss the parts of the brain used for “tasks” vs. complex thought
