SUMMARY:New Guidance for NIH Biosketches and Other Support Format
DESCRIPTION:In an effort to support strong collaboration between Federal research agencies\, NIH has made every effort to align the Biographical Sketch (Biosketch) and Other Support format page with the guidance issued by the Office of Science and Technology Policy Joint Committee on the Research Environment. As a result\, NIH has updated its application forms and instructions to support the need for applicants and recipients to provide full transparency and disclosure of all research activities\, foreign and domestic. \nThese changes primarily impact proposal submission\, JIT\, and RPPR submissions for due dates on or after May 25\, 2021. \n  \nIn this CETL session\, we will cover most of the upcoming changes to the NIH Biographical Sketch and Other Support Format page.

SUMMARY:Five Pillars of the Mind: Redesigning Education to Suit the Brain
DESCRIPTION:Come participate in this “reader’s digest book club” session that will summarize the current book and theory  by Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa and provide starting points for some great conversations regarding teaching and curriculum.\nThe Five Pillars of the Mind discusses a new way of looking at and categorizing knowledge and information. This new model is not meant to replace Bloom’s Taxonomy or any of the other models\, but works as a great overlay to any of these theories or taxonomies. The Five Pillars also provides a great “hook” for teaching students new ways of learning. You will surely come away with learning something new from this session. \nSession objectives. \n\nList and describe the Five Pillars\nDiscuss how the Five Pillars can complement other learning theories and taxonomies\nDiscuss how each of the Five Pillars can be used in the classroom
